It was a long play on Ary last nite. Repeat time is 4:30-6:30 today (just checked for you guys). I would recomend not to watch it in front of younger kids unless you are ready to explain the word 'sexy' to them and why is a Pakistani drama using this adjective.

Yes the play is called 'Romance of Ranchorline'. Ranchorline is a place in Karachi.
Your other question what kinda drama is it...... hmmm pata nahi kis kisam ka drama tha. I couldn't get the point myself. I would say it was entertainment for the crowd that likes the kinda entertainment it carried. Not family oreinted at all and defenitely NOT something you'd expect from a Paskistani channel.
^ Or, perhaps, they just wanted us to have a glimpse of what is actually going on in the society these days.
I haven't been to Karachi for the past 8 years now but from what I have seen, read, and heard, the drama was more or less a portrayal of the horrifying state Pakistani society is in right now. Inflation rates that are downright out of control, increasing poverty, lack of quality education, obsession with chichore star plus dramas that make women believe life is nothing if it's not heavily laced with romance, love, and sexuality, are the stimuli for such a desperate state. There are so very many problems and issues and not even one good solution. I actually felt sad when drama ended.

I think the acting is superb and it's quite comedic.
If anything, they are showing how easy it is to manipulate people and take advantage of them.
I don't see what the big hoopala is.
The point of the drama was to illustrate how incredibly selfish and users people can be ... and the lengths they will go to to manipulate others in order to get what they want. It happens all the time. The girlfriend the son was stealing for ... the man who was using the two sisters to finance his life ... it happens. People are gullible and fall for this all the time. It's a reality.
Qavi was saying all that stuff cause he's a predator. That was the role he was playing. He was a sexual predator who preyed on women and women fell for it cause he had the big flashy car and had money. I can understand why some people were uncomfortable watching it, but he was playing a certain role which does exist.

Everything they showed DOES happen, but to see all three women from the same family drooling over men the way they did, was kinda disgusting to watch.
The dialogues said by Qavi ..... just wasn't expecting that shown in a Pakistani drama.
In general I have very liberal views as far as what's shown by the media, but this just didn't cut it for me.
Ps: I am not criticizing Qavi or any of the other actors (they did a great job with their acting). I am not even against the concept of this drama. It's just the dialogues that made it so disgusting!
