Mangal ... man-gal .. 'a' has similar sound in man part and gal part. Why is there a confusion UZ?

I absolutely hate Roman Urdu. I try to use it as little as possible, for example on paklinks sometimes (due to 'no Urdu writing' policy). It's torture to read Roman Urdu. We should try to write Urdu in its proper form.

When I HAVE to use Roman Urdu then I try to choose shortest possible spelling. Hence 'mujhe' instead of 'mujhay'.
'the' instead of 'thay'. 'he' intead of 'hai/hay'.

But words with 'alif' are exception. Like 'faaltu' is better to use than 'faltu'. Single 'a' confuses people trying to decipher this awful code of Roman Urdu.
