Masi .. its when people use the English Alphabet to symbolise Arabic words.....I cannot fathom ur example but I see this from my girls all the time in their English examinations.....this is a common problem associated with the youth of today in my part of the world .....its like using 8 in l8ter to represent" the letter a"....and theres so many derivations of it.....
What do numbers represent in Roman arabic? I see them across some FB pages but can't make out their meaning. Example (nos. in bold):
"OMG !! this is sumthing OF THE HOOK il*9ra7ahh !!!! not bs l2*na the design is soo cuteee but l2na i know the taste it amazinng!!!!!!"
i don't remember who was teaching me all that in chat the other day but all i remember is '3' stands for AIN of arabic. The bold letters are to enhance the pronounciation of teh arabic words. I don't remember what 2,9 or 7 stand for :(
^ What? Letters? @poppies post, they use numbers which correspond to certain sounds. They use this because some arabic sounds cant be transliterated into the latin alphabet.
9 - ص
7 - ح
ء - 2
il9ra7ahh is
الصراحه which means frankness (google translate lol)
If you go on Arabic chat forums you will all types of 'arabish'
I just do
2 = hamza
3 = 'Ayn
'3 = G'Ayn
and do capitals for the emphatic letters, D, H, S, D, T, TH,
