If I remember right, Guru Arjan also gave protection to some one opposed to Jahangir, and Jahangir couldn’t distinguish between Sikhs and Hindus as Sadhus and Sikhs looked similar. Plus Sikhi was as organized as formidable religion upto Guru Gobind singh’s Khalsa
