Rogers puts bandwidth limits

our dear cable internet provider Rogers has put a bandwidth limit that came into affect on March 17th, 2005 and they didn’t bother informing anyone.

Basically, you’ve 60G for the month which includes your downloads and uploads. If you go over 60G, they first give u a written warning, then suspend ur account on the 2nd “abuse” and then cancel your account all together.

No more non-stop movies/shows download for me :frowning:

Re: Rogers puts bandwidth limits

Re: Rogers puts bandwidth limits

well , i wud care less cuz 60gb for 1 month is like giving a lot..

Re: Rogers puts bandwidth limits

:smack:

at WHAT time u decide, faizy is getting sad, and u come to cheer me up?

ps, “rogers” is joint with yahoo.. so AS LONG as u use that tv-cable interface for accessing the internet, its applied to u ..

and 60 gig is LOT for u ?

D U D E ! (tofi kuch kar yaar:D)

Re: Rogers puts bandwidth limits

there is a way to get around that but for rules sake i cant post it here just pm me

Re: Rogers puts bandwidth limits

^^ Go to the office???

Re: Rogers puts bandwidth limits

Do what I did and switch over to Bell Sympatico High Speed DSL! :k:

Re: Rogers puts bandwidth limits

bell sympatico sucks...u have to install so many softwares just to get the internet work...but in rogers its exactly the opposite...eventhough u re-install ur window and u click IE, the internet is just working.

and btw if 60gb for 1month is not a lot for u , then how much yo ?

Re: Rogers puts bandwidth limits

You're absolutely wrong!

I've got 3 computers running on DSL and I'm using a router. I only had to install software on one of the PCs and it wasn't all that difficult or hard. It's been very smooth and the speed has been great so far, alhamdulillah.

Re: Rogers puts bandwidth limits

FF, u claim ur in computers and then u in the same breath u say 60 gb is plenty. Shame on u :bailan:

Re: Rogers puts bandwidth limits

dude...i do programming not a lot of downloading... u know what i mean...but still 60gb per month...a lot ..

:rotfl: aap ne hamien hansaya aap ka shukria, “60gb is a lot”, I will proly tell this to my younger bro and he might end up killing you

Shehzad, I would have to confirm this with my bro in law. I know its written there, but I need the confirmation from someone who is inside the company. I will get back to you later abt it.

Re: Rogers puts bandwidth limits

I've already talked to the Roger's support and they confirmed that the limit is in place.

60 G maybe enough, but there are 3 of us in the house and we're always downloading something and if im not downloading, i usually leave my Kazza/bittorrent/Limewire (one of them, never all of them) open for the good of my heart and "for the online community" :)

Keep it in mind, 60G includes your download and upload. so if someone is uploading a file from you, its getting counted toward it. I hope that Roger loses a lot of business cause of this and thats the only way they're gonna remove this limit

Re: Rogers puts bandwidth limits

in my typical usage, 60 gigs is over in half month.. thats with FEELING sorry for the 99% of the customerbase of rogers..

warna to LAGA DAIN baray baray inke ;)

Re: Rogers puts bandwidth limits

hmmmm, I haven’t had my chance to chat my bro in law. Okay, but this is ridiculous. I have four computers and 2 laptops connected to network. How on earth I am suppose to manage now :teary1: I can’t even change my services either :frowning:

Thanks for the update
