Rocky Balboa

Just Watched this movie.

And I think its the 2nd best of the series. This was a great movie. Some scenes almost brought a tear to my eye. Stallone’s acting was oscar caliber. Story was great.

This was a fitting conclusion to the 30 year Rocky Saga.

I just hope that Rambo 4 will also end John Rambo’s saga in such a way as well.

Re: Rocky Balboa

The first movie was by far the best, imho...I agree, this is probably the second best, although the fight scene wasn't as intense...but not bad for a 60+ year old :)

It's so easy to sympathize with the charachter of Rocky...lovable tough guy...Stallone plays it great.

Re: Rocky Balboa

finally an appropriate ending to the rocky series, cuz the last one (Rocky V) sucked…

well done stallone :k:

Re: Rocky Balboa

rocky 3 was the best movie.

This was 3rd best

Re: Rocky Balboa

I'm not trying to bash it or anything, but is it easy to comprehend what Rocky is saying throughout the movie? I've watched the trailer and I honestly can not understand a single word that comes out of his mouth anymore. This is honestly a legitimate question. I would love to watch it with the kind of reviews its getting.

Re: Rocky Balboa

its crazy how FIT sylvester looks at 60!! if its possible....I say he looks even better than before with the added bulk. I loved the way they portrayed his character. The simple way with which he spoke english and the no-frills way in which he argues for his right to a license and with his son. I wish the actual fight was longer too. the movie ended before my popcorn did! loved it though. i agree rocky 1 and 2 were by far the best but this was a great movie as well.

Re: Rocky Balboa

I REALLY ENJOYED THE MOVIE!!!

Re: Rocky Balboa

I grew up watching rocky, though the first one came out before me. The first one was just amazing, it had a class of its own but the rest werent too shabby either. And honestly, I was expecting a horrible sequel this time around, but I must say, Stallone single hadedly brought back some of the class associated with the first one, and he concentrated highly on how philli was portrayed in the first one, which was rather brilliant. He relied less on the supporting cast this time, and limited Burt's role too. It was just amazing, especially the pre-fight stuff, and Stallone must be commended for an outstanding performance. But the series must end here.

Re: Rocky Balboa

btw this series must have had so many cameos!

Some I can recall:

Hulk Hogan 'thunderlips'
Joe Frazier (philli's very own)
Michael Buffer (the ring announcer)
Mr. T (I pity the fool)
Iron Mike Tyson (im gonna eat your kids)
and Alot of sportscasters

Apart from Mr. T, everyone played themselves...

Re: Rocky Balboa

I bought the HD Transfer DVD Box Set, came last Tuesday, and I've been through the 1 and 2nd. Amazing how we see the progression of the sets/Philly. There's an amazing attention to detail in the outdoor scenes. I wish that he was a bit bolder and was willing to go a bit further with all his movies, how many times do we see a movie about 'fighting' rated PG (except for V, which was rated PG13, all were rated PG).
