That’s the yosemite decimal system i think… we don’t use that here in the UK… i think 5.8 would covert to VS (very severe) in the UK… so you’re pretty good eh?!
I’ve done climbing a lot around the world whilst the hubby and i were on our travels… but mainly in France and the UK… most memorable times were when I was in France with my friends and we’d climb around the european Alps… up to extremement difficile (extremely hard)… or when we were feeling very dare devillish…we used to attempt to climb alpine style of grades like Abominablement difficile (abominable)…
i think the next step for you would be free soloing … if you have kids just don’t attempt it though.. i got it outta my system when i was young
Hi Maroush,
No kids for me. I think I need to get back into the groove of climbing again though - I've been on a climbing Hiatus ever since I got married since my hubby isn NOT at all into this stuff. :(
I need a good belayer to partner with too. :D
I used to be pretty good - but like I said, that was quite a while ago. I need to have my gear shipped over to me (still sitting at my parents house!) so that I can get back into practice!
Your adventures sound like fun Maroush! So lucky that you and your hubby share this passion! :) I would love to go climbing in the Alps!! Most of my climbs have been in more of the drier climes (desert situations).
I need a girl friend like you to go on my adventures with me! All my girlfriends are too afraid of 'breaking a nail' to even try it!! :(
Fayax - Go to the Texas Rock Gym in Houston.... it rocks apparantly (no pun intended :))... and remember, no desi style barefoot climbing!
Ziya - i thought you were a guy!!!! Kudos to you... i rarely meet a desi woman who is into this.... you should definitely try to convince the hubby to be your belayer!!! ;)

I'm working on it, but I don't think it'll happen. :(
In one of the Climbing magazine, I read about this guy who climbs buildings in big metros (from outside off course). He has done many, including Twin Towers, i guess. That was really awesome reading that article, cause that is not only dangerous but unlawful also.

TLK bhai, are you talking about the frenchman Alain Robert, who is famously known as the “french spiderman”?? If so, this guy is awesome… and i love reading about him!
Reminds me of my friend, who once attempted to climb the eiffel tower in paris… this is at least a decade back… but because he’s such a narcissist he obviously told everyone that he was going to do it.. and when the day came, you could tell there was so many Police around in disguise, just watching him start off at the bottom… they let him get to about 5 feet high before they pulled im off… and he spent the night in a jail cell, and received a hefty fine!
Yeah, i wouldn’t go that far to climbing a building… i’m an adrenaline junkie but i’m not stupid
