My brother told me he was ill - in scotland, but the death is news to me! I really respected him, as a polititian becasue he had the guts to put his money where their morals were - unlike Sally...But all that aside, I liked to hear him debate. Oneof the few wh odidnt send me to sleep - and made very valid points..

The man who stood up to Blair and told him to get his head out of Bush's ***** and reisgned from his cabinet before the Iraq war. A great man and a great politician.

This is the resignation speech he gave to the Labour party due to their involvement in the War in Iraq…he was a good man who had the guts to stand up for what he believed in…whether one agrees with his sentiments or not…what he did took guts…lol something none of those Labour Muslims MP’s ever had…

What I remember most strongly about Robin Cook is the great fanfare he made about "ethical foreign policy" whe he became foreign secretary.... and how he tried to weasel out of the situation when he was revealed as a hypocrite for allowing the sales of arms to Indonesia and Zimbabwe that were used in repressing political dissent.

^ The man had principles and resigned from the cabinet based on those principles. How many other hypocrites have done that or for that matter how many voted with Blair in the hope of getting a cabniet seat. The man had courage and conviction.

his courage, conviction and principles didn't stop UK from join USA in invading iraq. did not stop ppl from voting for blair. so basically he did something good for his own self but nothing good came out for anyone else. good for him. as for now, robin is cooked and served. end of story.
