Robert Downey Jr. to Become a Survivalist in Neil Strauss' 'Emergency'

Over his last few years of blockbuster fame, Robert Downey Jr. has quickly established himself as the schnazzy crime fighter – whether its fighting the forces of evil with his powers of deduction in old-school London, or creating super suits that allow a regular (albeit stinking rich) human man to become a beloved superhero. As his stardom explodes to new heights, so does the epic quality of his characters.

But if you’re hoping he’d dial it back a bit and show us some of the old indie Downey – the actor who became a freakshow man of hair, a Dicksian drug addict or singing detective, have no fear: Downey Jr. is prepping a new project as a potential starring vehicle which will have him take a little of his ‘Iron Man’ ingenuity and apply it to the world of home-grown survival skills.
