It's all perfect doc,
Take N-5 from karachi to Lahore ... it;s like 1400 km.
From Lahore take M-2 to Islamabad, From Islamabad Take M-1 to Peshawar .. M-2 and M-1 both are better then any other interstate highways in US
Re: roadtrip through pakistan
*It shuld be fine ... though it is advisable not to travel in Sindh during night

Thanks guys. I don't want keep driving straight shot. I'd like to stop at historical sites, small cities etc. I plan on stopping in faisalabad, multan, mir pur khas, khair pur, harrappa sites. Any other CITY suggestions?
Also thinking about karachi to gawadar, and visiting historical sites on the way. Likely going to stay at the PC, which I think is the only hotel there in Gwadar.
For some reason traveling and exploring culture within pakistan doesn't exist. I've asked friends and relatives from there and they could care less.
Re: roadtrip through pakistan
**About karachi - gawadar
There are plenty of hotels in Gawadar other then PC ....
In between khi - gwdr there are quite a few places like
Hingol national park (though its not a tourist spot)
Mud Volcano (but for tht you wlil need 4x4 jeeps)
Omara beaches (its damn clean compared to karachi beaches)

Go to Gawadar first, .. then start your trip from Karachi to Hyderabad ... then Shukkar .. and then Multan, Then Faisalabad, Lahore, ..... Gujranwala (you have to leave moterway for that) .. start travelling on GT Road .. and you can make stops at Gujrat, Wazierabad, Sialkot, Rawalpindi and Islamabad, .take M-1 to Peshawar.. the end !..

true actually travelling at night in any part of world is not advisable.
Re: roadtrip through pakistan
No issues.
LHR - KHI must stops: Multan, Bahawal Pur, Rahim Yar Khan, Sakhhar, Hyderabad.
Karachi to Gawadar, you need a very reliable vehicle because very few populated areas along the route and mobile phones don't work most of the time.
Avoid traveling through interior sindh at night time. Might have to pay some rupees at Punjab-Sindh border, specially coming back from Sindh. The policemen might come up with all kinds of documents they want to check!

*I've heard tht Highway police are rather quite friendly and try to "protect" citizens from local police ...

Re: roadtrip through pakistan
^ Its not the highway police I am talking about. Its the local police posted at Punjab-Sindh border.
