Road Trip with 9 Month old

We have planned a road trip with our 9month old. It is almost 16hrs drive but we will covering the distance in 3-4 days. So my questions is what are some dos and don’t with a 9th month old?

Thanks!

We just got back from a 16-hour road trip with a 9 month old. We covered it in 2 days. We didn’t do any sight seeing along the way, so we were able to cover it in fewer days. It was tiring but manageable.

Other than taking frequent breaks and taking the baby out of the car seat to get some activity, there really wasn’t much else to be done. Just make sure you end your day well before your baby’s bedtime to avoid being overtired.

We also made sure to get hotel rooms with fridge and microwave. Made feeding a lot easier. We also got a car bottle warmer and an ice box/cooler for the car. Keep lots of toys and other stuff for baby to play with and rotate/cycle through them. My baby gets bored within minutes so we had to improvise with random stuff we could find in the car. Bring lots of snacks like those little puffs, baby crackers, etc. to keep the baby occupied. Utilize car seat pockets to store diapers, changing sheet and wipes for easy access. Keep sippy cups handy. I find dressing baby in a sleeper the easiest and most comfortable while traveling.
