I am thinkin of a road trip from Toronto all the way to Halifax and wanted to know if some1 has done it before.
Suggest some places and cheap entertainment places

I've tried going all the way to Halifax but ended the journey in Saint John. It's a beautiful scenic drive once you leave Quebec City.
Not knowing what exactly it is that you want to do or who you're going with, here are some general attractions that you might be interested in:
**
Montreal:** Biodome, Notre-Dame or St.Patricks basilica... hit up some Arabic restaraunts. That's all there is.
**Quebec City: **Take a walking tour of old quebec yourself and then visit the citadel for a proper guided tour.
New Brunswick: To begin, just enjoy the natural scenery. It's simply spectacular! Go for whale watching... visit hopewell rocks. My family spent most of our time in New Brunswick hiking and roaming around town. We were lucky in that there was a military parade during the time we were there.
**Nova Scotia: **Never vacationed there, but did spend a day roaming around town when I was staking out Dalhousie University... beautiful place btw.

Montreal - Olympic stadium - biodome, biosphere, old Montreal, St. Catherene Street.
Quebec City - Old port, Old city, Montmerncery Falls (20 min drive).

Can a person travelling from the US to CA, do a roadtrip a such, are there any checks/issues along the way? I have family in Toronto, so if I were to want to drive from Toronto to one of the locations above, there aren't any issues right?

Once you enter into Canada through airport, Detroit or Buffalo, you are in. Now you can goto Halifax to Vancouver via road trip, train or domestic flight. Nobody will ask you for anything. Just keep your photo ID with you (driver's license etc) while traveling. You can keep passport at your relative's house in TO if you want, you won't be needing it in Canada once entered.

i've traveled a few times by road, there's really no problem as long as u have proper documents... (xcept tfor that one time.... shuddering....

Coming to Montreal, check out Old Montreal that includes the port. What else.... biodome if you a nature guy. St-Catherines (downtown) street if your adventurous.. that's about it, montreal is lively city though!

I had 1 bad experience at the border about 2 years ago on my way back from Toronto. The guy at the border was a true jerk I guess. I was driving with my parents. The guy asked to check passports, like normal...but started giving me the 3rd degree when he saw visas to saudi he went ballistic....
how did u "fund" your trip to canada...i tried to remain calm, but i guess i was a bit sarcastic...like how much $$ do u relaly need to go to canada, except gas money and food?? What was ur purpose, who did u stay with...how di du "fund" your trip to saudi...who helped you...i was like WTF???
I tried to explain that we all work and make money, it doesn't take an arm & a leg to afford a trip once a year..jeez. Anyways they took us in and apparently wrote us up...and we waited isnide for about 3 hours!! My poor abu was so nervous telling m to remain calm and polite.....i was like heck no...i didnt do anything wrong and he is insinuating things that aren't true! Khair they even searched my car and made me stand outside with my hands up...me a skinny little frail girl....and mind the cop was like this big tall husky guy and a fat lady...what could i possibly do to them??? I was never so upset or offended in my life.

That is why I asked if they check you/bother you while your en route in canada. We are planning a roadtrip this summer to Toronto, 1 day by Niagara Falls, 1 day to visit family..and maybe more days to check out the pretty scenic parts....but let's see....

American broder petrol people are bunch of weirdos...
They are trained in threatning people to catch the loop hole in their stories ..
Dont worry about them and keep a cool head .. that is the bext way of dealing with them

mtl- old port, mt royal, biodome, botanical gardens (in the summer), the F1 humgama in june, cresent street, st catherine. ...mtl always has sumthing going on over the summer.
