It worked on my friends the other day. We were stuck on a 5 lane freeway which was jammed for as far as you could see. Tempers started to flare and I jokingly suggested that as long as we weren’t being shot at, or held hostage by an IDF blockade on our own land, it doesn’t make sense to complain without end. Even having a car is a blessing, which you only appreciate when you’re compelled to ride public transport. When traffic eased up and we started moving, we passed a 2 vehicle crash - survivors seemed unlikely by the look of the wreck. I’ve found that the more I keep death and the fragility of life in mind, the easier it becomes to practice patience, not just on the road. Easier said than done, though.
