Help needed! Everytime I open a real-media file my laptop goes mute. I than need to open volumecontrol, adjust the settings (wave), listen to a song and when I want to play another song, I have to repeat all this again. I don’t have this problem when opening mp3 or any other music files. Does anybody know why this keeps happening and how I can solve it?

which software you are using to play rm files? try an alternative software like media player classic.

Open a file in Real Media Player--> turn the volume all the way up on real player and close the file. Open it again and see it saved the settings.
