**Congratz to all the people who actually took part in this. *Well done everyone!
I am even shocked to see myself in the list, because with all due respect the kind of mods we have who judged this competition have actually no real cognizance on how to judge an entry. I think we all know it from inside, the way this competition was run, and the way the entries were judged is completely inadequate. So it is quite unfair for all the contestants to have such fallacious judging atomsphere.
No doubt that each and every ENTRY was great, and every good work should be praised, but when hin33 brings sentences like "We feel for you med-students" and "great focus with all his zoom lenses and equipment" , then it is going totally off the track, well its not about the equipment or how the person is , its about the APPROACH and the FINAL and CONCLUSIVE work that has been submitted, and you have to FOCUS and CONCENTER on the main "theme", which was lacking in this competition. * * Tofibaba no need to argue, because like HHL said "**some professionals" from this field were taken into judging the entries, so hamari kaha itni jurrat, waise bi andar say sab ko pata hai kay in sab mods nay kya "gul" khilaye haiN : - )

ASN all I am trying to do here is acknowledge the efforts... let it be from an SLR or a # 2 pencil or be a hand written note. I value it because some one spent their time and submitted whatever they had. That comment thread does not collect each and every aspect of judging but a one liner thank you note from me to every participant. How can u possibly say that the theme was missing in this competition. On the contrary, it was the strongest aspect of it. Every entry was a heart felt expression of the theme ' life'.
Explain to me where you felt that the theme was missing...
Also, kindly give us some solid pointers on how this competition can be more adequate. Did you have any entries in mind that should have been the winners, when you call the judging fallacious.
I truly would like to understand your POV on this because you are lacking in pinpointing the mistakes and only presenting illusory assertions. Again I think you were being hasty in thinking that my thank you notes were the judging criterion and also impulsive in calling the whole effort 'unfair for all the contestants'.

ASN, this forum is not my place .. nor its my position to say much ... but your comments are not something that I was expecting to come from you.
Maybe you "ARTIST" types can see things differently but the way I see it, the competition took place in an excellent environment, Mods of this forum did a great job in conducting such a lively competition that even people like myself were visiting the thread, just to enjoy the entries..
It takes a lot of commitment and guts to run such things ... especially when mods were doing it on voluntary basis. They are not getting paid for that, they are not under any obligation to do what they did.
Last thing that they need is ungratefulness.
I am always surprised at the people who have so many problems with administration, yet they still come and post in GS ... I am sure that those who do not agree with the policies and techniques of admins and mods can always go and find other forums to speak their mind.. why GS

TLK, don't mind ASN. He's proven to be a terrible team-player in absolutely everything. I can't think of a single project on GS we've done that he hasn't given negative criticism about and accused people of inadequacies in doing their jobs.
