Rizwan Moazzam - Good or Bad?

Anyone ordered any bridal wear from Rizwan Moazzum before? Or does anyone know of someone that did? Your thoughts?

Re: Rizwan Moazzam - Good or Bad?

Yes a guppan here had both her wedding and valima outfits by him and they were stunning.

Re: Rizwan Moazzam - Good or Bad?

ive visited his boutique in karachi.. a cousin of mine had some jahez clothing done by him.. so i thought for my bridal, i may check him out.. and i HATED the kaam.. there was no quality whatsoever! and the designs were hideous.. unless u take a design ureself and have him make it.. which again i dont see the point cuz the quality sucks.

i hadnt seen my cousins clothes up close. just in pics and they looked stunning.. so when i visited her, i asked to check her clothing and she said the same thing.. they are of poor quality.

i wouldnt recommend him.

Re: Rizwan Moazzam - Good or Bad?

My cousin got a couple of outfits including her bridal jora from him and the quality was great. The detail in the kaam was superb. The material was great too. She said that you really have to dig to get good designs. This was about 4 years agao...I don't know if the quality has changed since then.

Re: Rizwan Moazzam - Good or Bad?

I got 1 formal saree, shalwar kameez and anarkali made by him. The fabric quality is excellent and designs are all pretty but the kaam quality isn't so good as in the stones keep coming off. I didn't have this problem with a local designer that made some of my other heavy dresses on my recent trip!

Re: Rizwan Moazzam - Good or Bad?

errrr does anyone have to add any good or bad experience with him and why ?

My fiancé called me from Pakistan today going, he saw a very nice designer replica bridal from him, and after a lot of digging at his show (my fiancé did not seem to like anything he had to offer)

at the end they showed him the replica outfit which was customized made for some client.

He didn't allow him to take any pictures, now i am bit scared if i should give him the green light and get it.. but i have my doubts,, and i am... SCARED !
lol

i am confused

Re: Rizwan Moazzam - Good or Bad?

I've been to his boutique in Karachi in the dollmen mall. Dude, I found him to be so overpriced. I guess if you don't have the ability to stay in town, and get kaam done yourself...he might be the way to go.

I thought his materials were cheap. I've definitely seen better quality silk and banarsi in the market.

I thought his kaam wasn't worth the price. The kaam he has one one jora, you could instruct someone at Kehkashaan shopping center (the BEST PLACE for quality kaam in karachi), and get double-triple the kaam done for a designer knock-off and still pay like half the price.

Just to give you an idea (these prices are from 4 years ago, keep in mind, but just shows the difference).

A Rizwan M outfit I saw that I thought was ok - 80,000 ruppees.

Similar Kaam/design at Kehkashaan - just the embroidery alone was costing 3000 rupees. You can get BEAUTIFUL silk in this one shopping center I know of, for I don't even know how much. Definitely less than 80,000 of course --> and you just give it to the folks at Kehkashaan - they will have the design done for you in ONE month.

Deal is you gotta hang out in Karachi for one month. Easy if you are a SAHM or unemployed, or have a summer off. Not so easy if you're working. But regardless, you can get the SAME work done for so much cheaper. I really think some of these designers are RIPPING people off, and Rizwan is one of them.

You need to adjust for price hikes over these past 4 years, but:
So, Kaam at Kehkeshaan per outfit : 3000-4000 rupees
Raw silk/silk kapra : 1000-2000 rupees
stitching to your measurement : 300 ruppees

So, on average, you can get a REALLY AWESOME, COMFORTABLE jora that FITS you for 6000.

Compare that to the prices these designers charge.

Now yes, you can go to a lower scale boutique and get a ready-made for like 4000 ruppees, but it will have like 2 inches of kaam done on the neck, and it probably will not fit you and you'll have to pay for alterations ANYWAY, and the dupatta on those outfits is some chunri dupatta that looks like a dog chewed it up and spit it out. So then you have to pay for a separate dupatta anyway to make the suit look right.

Desi clothes are definitely expensive for sure.

Re: Rizwan Moazzam - Good or Bad?

The silk - best silk you're going to find in Karachi from my experience at least --> go to Clifton --> Exclusive boutique newly opened past few years ago...I think it's near Bunto Kazmi's boutique, but I could be wrong. In that shopping center, there is a huge collection of cloth-sellers. In the back, there is this one dude who sells plain silk cloth. It's all white, and you tell him what color you want it dyed. These are quality silks. Raw silks, and every variety of silk you can imagine. This is NOT the stuff you will see even a 10,000 ruppee ready-made outfit made on, because they wont get the profit margin they're looking for.

I mean, I've gotten a couple of silk outfits done from this guy, and really, the colors are what you want - and then you just take it to kehkashaan and get killer awesome work done on the suit.

I can't wait to make more money. I'm gonna go and make myself a wardrobe there, one year. That is my reward for myself.

Re: Rizwan Moazzam - Good or Bad?

thanks a lot for the tips!
the shop was called exclusive ?
hmm i will keep it mind, once i go karachi myself.
I know i herd some stories about rizwan moazzam. But my fiancé really liked the outfit and the work on it. Apparantly he had replicated some HSY bridal lehnga, and it was quite nice. But i am generally not super impressed with rizwan moazzam. The thing is the owner did not let my fiancé take any pictures, therefor i cant even see it and judge it for myself, and he is charging around 2 laakhs, for that bridal. And i am just thinking, take that money and get something from Sana Safinaz then, atleast i have herd good stuff about their bridals. But i dont know i am so confused.
I have been gotten three kaam wale outfits made from kehkeshaan, and they were very nicely made. We bought our own fabric from this guy in kehkeshaan, it was really good clothe, he has this stall in the middle of kehkeshaan i think, but this was like 3 years ago. I do not know about now.

but designers do seriously rip one off. its such a shame :(

Us guppan ka naam Pareezay hai

Kitna commission hai aap ka???

Re: Rizwan Moazzam - Good or Bad?

Some of their stuff is nice...but I agree with someone above that it can be quite pricy for what they offer...
