The much celebrated designer Ritu Kumar brought royalty on the ramp with her Falaknuma Collection. Royalty of Pataudi, the star of yesteryears Sharmila Tagore and her daughter, actor Soha Ali Khan walked as showstoppers for her couture line.

It was an enthralling moment when in the background the nostalgic song "Chap tilak sab cheeni" played on and the mother-daughter duo looked stunning in similar outfits as they sashayed down the ramp, hand-in-hand, looking splendidly regal.

I find Ritu Kumar's designs so fascinating, to me she's an improved version if Sabyasachi. Jalta Diya (or any member), would you be able to direct me to website where they have loads of Ritu Kumar's designs? I tried on FB and her official, but didn't feel I've seen enough. I'd really appreciate it.

i find 2-3 pieces i love and would buy in a heartbeat, i think ritu kumar is doing a good job in preserving India's weaves, i wish Pakistani designers would focus more on cuts and fabrics instead of the bling-bling we see all the time.

The Falaknuma Collection is a tribute to the Falaknuma Palace in Hyderabad, restored by the Taj Group of Hotels. The collection highlighted the craftsmanship of Hyderabad.
Kumar says this is not a collection one does for a fashion week. It is something that is almost historic and has to do with cultural curiosity in textiles and in all phases of art and craft.

A few of the stuff was really beautiful, reminded me of something from the 80s but very subtle. The jewelry/jhoomer set is beautiful. I just dont understand why desi fashion designers dont hire proper techs for lighting and a proper photographer. They are so candid, it's annoying!
