This weddings season, Ritu Kumar dresses up none other than Genilia D’Souza
as she ties the not with Riteish Deshmukh.
The outfits in Genelia’s trouseeau comprise of a nude and black net
anarkali – with multi panelled layers , The bodice is accented with a
see through layer of lace
like filigree. The ensemble is high lighted with a black and nude coloured
odhni and accompanied with a nude coloured chooridar .
A perfect ensemble for the mehndi or sangeet ceromony.
The second ensemble is a lehnga choli and odhni in gold and indigo blue.
The blouse is made of indigo blue velvet with antique dhapka embroidery .
The lehnga is made of antique gold woven with zardozi embrodery with a
velvet indigo blue border highlighted with gold embroidery. The odhni is a
subtle mix of gold and indigo blue , highlighting genelias petite frame.
The embroidery is from a vintage collection used in Ritu Kumars archives to
give a golden glow to the face and the ensemble resembles a 19th century
archivael piece.
“For Genelia’s trouseeau, i have chosen colours that will enhance her
vivacious personality. She can carry off the traditional Indian look
beautifully. The Anarkali and Lehenga designed for her, beautifully
complement Genelia. It has been a pleasure designing for her”, says
Ritu Kumar.

The white and gold cards were sent in a wooden box with the couple’s initials R and G embossed on it, accompanied with ‘R’ and ‘G’ chocolates and designed by Delhi’s famed Entertainment Design Company (EDC). Inside the box is the white on gold card with three inserts for the different functions—sangeet, wedding and reception. Each piece of the hand-made chocolates have the letters R and G imprinted on them.
The wedding functions are as follows!
January 31st is the Sangeet; February 3rd, the wedding, and February 4th the reception! These events will be at the Taj Lands End in Bandra and Grand Hyatt in Santa Cruz.
