I was wondering, how much time did all the married people on here set aside to look for rishtas? For example, if someone wanted to get married when they were 22, how much time before hand should they start looking? Also, how many years were you guys engaged before you got married?

usually 2 or 3 years in advance.

there is no hard and fast rule for how long they should keep looking. It may work well for the first family they meet or this search may go on for years. All depends on your luck.
On averyage, a 1 to 2 and years is a good time period for staying engaged to know each other and families.

It varies from person to person as it depends on various factors such as how efficient one is, their circumstances and above all their luck :). For most, however, it would take around a year or two. But some people get lucky and get married to the very first prospect they see. However that also depends on what you want and how you want it. For example some people would like to look all around before zeroing on someone where as some just go with whatever acceptable option they get from very first few rishtas they see.

basically it depends upon the demands one person has. Less demands means quick rishta....

At least 2/3 years or possibly more if you are fussy.
