ok so a family came to see me over the weekend and the same day at night they called and said they liked me. They invited my parents over for eid weekend as that was the first available date both parties were free.
How do I know how serious they are and where I stand? How do these things normally proceed? Should I go or not go?otherwise it would be my sisters but not me

Im a girl. There was no indication one way or the other of how they felt and i still feel like its very half hearted for same reasons.

Your mom may ask from guy's family if it is okay to bring you on long weekend meeting. If you two families are not in same cities then it is highly recommended for you to join them.
TBHWY, It is unpredictable process, but what you said it shows positivity and looks like they are 60% interested in your family.
Now, next thing which I believe is most important in it is that you and your to be guy need to know each other. What if they say yes and you never get opportunity of getting to know each other. It should fair deal like both of your parents allow you to check compatibility before finalizing engagement. I dont know your family setup, but it would be nice if you two go on date two or three time at public place.
