is this belief is not enough for us that we ask for material securities (money, wealth, looks, education…bla bla)?
my other concern is related to the girls who rant about “Rishta aunties”.

I don’t agree with this point, as a man suppose to provide for his wife and children. So I think it is right of a woman to look for his financial condition before marrying him. Similarly it is right of a man to find some one who he finds attractive and compatible.
As Love is important for men, same like that Security is important for women. (my own philosophy)

*In *my personal opinion .. many of us have more financial means then needed for a marriage …

Ali i totally agree with you that many of us have financial resources. But problem is that many of us also doesn’t have these resources. Plus its choice of a girl and a guy if they find each other suitable both financially and personally.
I hardly ever seen a girl from rich family marrying a poor guy. So I think their is an issue of family status. Unless both have enough Takwah to over come it.
