i was watching cnn’s larry king live , where the guest was bill maher
now this gentleman on prime time tv called" islam as a bad religion" he further added that to say that islam has nothing to do with terrorism is like saying " homosexulatity has got nothing to do with aids"
now where are we? which age are we living ?
can you imagine a muslim saying something like that on prime time tv anywhere in the world appart from the erstwhile taliban regime?
such comments are tolerated and said on cnn!!!
how would the western civilised world react to such a remark against christianity by a muslim on a muslim prime time network or any network for that matter?
where are we heading ? on one hand countries like saudi arabia are changing text books to show christainity in positive light and here in usa such remarks are being allowed and encouraged?

Slightly off from the rest of your post, but that sentence alone, let alone his religious comments, speaks volumes about the depth of his ignorance.
Bill Maher makes some funny jokes once in a rare while, but otherwise the guy's an idiot. His arguments seem to always make faulty assumptions. I've seen his show on HBO several times.

I hope you see the irony in your own statement. The Saudis are "reducing" the amount of hate speech in SCHOOL TEXT BOOKS and you're complaining about a comedian calling Islam "bad" on a talk show?
^ No I think what he means is that such comments are becoming acceptable for shows like Larry King.

cnn or fox news ( specially fox news ) to hay hee intha darjay hay ghatya channels. i have programmed them on my tv as "laanti channels" lakin i do watch them, gives u insight into thinking of a countries media.
What else can you expect from Bill Maher! Its a well known fact that he blames Muslims for everything!
I think Bill Maher just said something which is increasingly perceived by everyone. And the west plays a minimal part in making this perception grow.

Well...you guys get away with BBQing all kinds of people, so how do you do it? Why is Bill Maher or "everyone" not percieving that?
The key word here, Mufakkar, is consistency.
Ok, You have been consistently bbqing all kinds of people whether they be Christian Missionaries (e.g. Graham Staines), Muslims Women or Children. And you consistently bbq at least one untouchable every other month for things ranging from showing up late to talking back etc. so why aren't you percieved in a certain way?
If you want to play the childish games of one upmanship, I can provide a laundry list of killings in the name of Islam. But I guess its futile for me to try as some people will just not get it.

Yes lots of us do. We just have a different name for it: "Salam" or "Peace"...you should look also look up the meaning of the word "Islam"...you'd be surprised.
Islam is peace hmmm true but more like islam is piece of mind!
If you want peace no problem but don't expect to kill, starve and bomb us and still expect peace!

anjann, it is not part of our religion to practice non-violence. As a matter of fact, a true Muslim is a Muslim who can stand up against any sort of injustice and stop it by force and if he is not capable of doing it he should at least verbally condemn it. Or in simple words, if some one slaps you for a wrong reason, as a Muslim you are supposed to hold his hand and stop him rather than offering him your second cheek to be slapped. So you can clearly see that we Muslims do not practice Gandhi’s AHINSA ( non- violence) or Jesus non-violence philosophy. We have our own ideology to restrict violence.
However, based on this basic philosophy of Islam, it is extremely unfortunate to label Islam a Aggressive or Violent religion. One should understand that a Muslim is supposed to be aggressive against violence and injustice only.
