Actress Sridevi, 54, one of the most celebrated actresses of the Hindi film industry has passed away.
The news was confirmed to HuffPost by a member of the actor’s family.
According to sources, the English Vinglish actress was in Dubai for a wedding and suffered a cardiac arrest.
She is survived by husband Boney Kapoor and daughters, Khushi and Janhavi Kapoor.
Wow. That's a shock! She's maintained herself outwardly so well that you'd think she'd be in good health. Her husband had left behind his first wife and 2 kids just to marry Sri Devi. He never returned to his first wife...not even when she was battling cancer and then later succumbed to it. To love a woman so singularly that it blocks all logic or reason.....he must be very devastated. :(
I remember her movie 'Chandni'. There was a very good title song as well. I liked her because of her extempore style. More natural and much different than other actresses.

Ugh. I guess I'm among the few people that didn't like Chandni. I thought Lamhe was better.
I actually dont remember its story at all. But when i read this name Sri Devi after such a long time, that movie name came in that mind and then i remembered there was a song. I grew up living with my mamu(s) and they used to hear this song all the time.
In childhood, there used to live an aunty in immediate neighbourhood. Her name is Madhuri but she, those days, used to look like Sridevi. I like her “katori-chat” that I still call “chatori-chat”.
I remember only three movies of Sridevi; Sadma, Mr. India and English Vinglish respectively. She looked so beautiful and graceful in English Vinglish but I like her as chulbuli “hawa hawai” more. She was a good dancer and I thought it is due to this she so fit and looks so beautiful and gorgeous, perhaps this has shocked me that she died of cardiac arrest - result of unhealthy lifestyle.
Sridevi was a very good actress, I remember her and Kamal Haasan’s acting in the movie “sadma”. Miss you, Sridevi
