Re: rings
I will never in a million years marry a guy who cant afford to get me at least 2 carats. And it has to be from a known store, it cant just be like frm a pawn shop or something.
Re: rings
So you’re okay with your fiance getting you one of those 25 cent walmart rings?
Re: rings
We didn’t do the whole engagement ring first and the wedding ring at the wedding. Both came at the same time..right after the nikkah. Hubs picked it out himself. The only thing he asked me if I liked multiple stones together or a solitaire. I gave him my answer, and the rings (“engagement” and wedding band) he gave me were beautiful. Mashallah. Hubs knew that my favorite colour was blue, so he got the jewellers to add 2 sapphire stones. It’s hard to explain where they’re located, but this picture might help. They sort of sit right beneath the diamonds and are embedded in the band. (The ring below isn’t the one that I got but it shows you where the sapphires are located on my ring)

I gave hubs a very simple band that has some discreet etching on it.

Re: rings
Girls, whatever ring you/fiance decide on, if you get white gold, make sure you are not allergic to the white gold sold in the US. It has nickel in it, which can cause allergic reactions in many people. My rings were white gold, and I developed an allergic reaction after more than 1 year of wearing them. :( Now I either have to get new rings that are not white gold or coat my existing ones with Rhodium every 6 mo.
Re: rings
So nobody is/was worried about the cost of the ring or the size of the stone on it?
Nobody put their foot down about it?
Re: rings
cool…i’d have also picked the second option …don’t really care about rings shings…
Re: rings
If you can afford it, you should give it. For some girls it's a dream..for guys it will always be nothing more than a pretty stone.
Re: rings
Doesn't look that way.
Re: rings
I wouldn’t put my foot down and I wouldn’t make it a deal breaker, tho of course I would prefer some rings to others.
Re: rings
oh the purse was perfect when I got it , but after 2 yrs of use , it’s kinda not so great anymore ![]()
Re: rings
With this kind of mentality you're probably going to help drag your husband to hell.
Re: rings
I think it's the thought that counts and as long as he's not totally cheapo... it's just a token of his affection. It's a symbol of marriage and I don't think a girl should be so petty that she has tons of requirements for a ring.
Re: rings
i agree...if he can afford it then gr8 ....if not then I'll be happy with anything he picks out himself.
Re: rings
