riks...

I was talking to a friend in karachi - over the phone
guy hasn’t changed in all these years :smack:

same old puranay zamanay wali meethi meethi pyar bhari gaalian
aur waghairaa waghaira

he told me “Ab riks lainay ka time nahi hay - buht dair ho gai hay”
he was referring to his immigration plans to Canada, which he and I had discussed a long time ago.. in Karachi. I managed to move to Canada, he stayed back for some family reasons.

Anyway, after the call I thought about the good old days in Karachi, and those ChaRaaa parties … Rikss is actually an urdu’fied version of risk :stuck_out_tongue:
one other example of this word twisting is West / or Waiste
This was said when friends were watching a one day cricket match together, on the TV and a batsman would be doing tuk tuk in the pinch overs

“Yar yeh buhat ballaiN (waiste / west) kar raha hay”
:rotfl:

any more you can think of :hehe:

Re: riks…

I went for the interview in a university, a girl, who was sitting next to me was discussing the future plans etc I got really tensed when she said “Lock” the word was supposed to be “LUCK” not “Lock”

Re: riks…

main to abhi bhi kabhi kabhi riks bol deta hon  shhhhhhh

Re: riks...

''Kia WAKHT ho raha hai?'' ..and yeah Karachi being pronounced as ''Khiranchi'' is the most irritating thing to be said!

RIKS..I like I like..
