Rights And Responsibilities

The Universal Declaration of Human rights sets out two dozen specific human rights. It is a great achievement on the part of the human civilization to embark upon such a remarkable document that not only specifically underlines the rights that we can all cherish but also binds all the nations of the globe to adhere to the rules set forth.

To me every right comes with a responsibility**, I wonder if there is a universal Declaration of responsibilities too? **
We all remember our rights, yet only a few remember responsibilities, is it an anomaly, or lack of education. Is it human nature to be selfish, or is it a culture of greed and cupidity?

Re: Rights And Responsibilities

Very nice thinking...

I think people declare things like "rights" as it attracts others to support them. If you go around declaring peoples "responsibilities" very few would be bothered as it is a "burden" and a reality which we would rather not face.

There should be a declaration of responsibilities. Especially a declaration of responsibilities for our leaders. But not stop there...cos even the smallest of person has a responsibility he/she is obliged to bear.
