If you have to quickly decide between right or left, do you ever have difficulty? Like for a split second, you have to think which way is right or left?
I never understood why this happens. If knowing your name, the directions up/down, or city you were born in are second nature, than why this confusion?
It’s just a minor issue, but it bothers me to no end.
Ok, it happened to me in school, there were two stacks of books, and I was asked to give one to my teacher from the right stack, but I took it from the left one, and then my teacher said to me, “No, the other right.”
Don't have that problem, but a co-worker of mine does and when she took her driving license test, she had to write down "left" and "right" on her hands so that she doesn't get confused when the examiner gives her instructions. LOL
Whenever someone asks me the directions.. I needs time to decide between left/right and even then I use my hands to point out direction rather then saying left or right
Driving lessons will be fun =/
OMG im so bad with it. u know this lady wouldnt start the oath .. coz I had my left hand up in the air.
when im giving directions, my bestie has just leaarned to do the opposite of what I tell him.
Yes this happens to me It’s quite annoying because when I’m testing peoples eyes I ask them to look to the left or right.. and then myself I’m there like errrr Cos I’m trying to figure out what way I need to move
Our body, between up and down is not symmetrical, but between left and right, it is - and that is why our mind gets confused. If you think of it, there is no easy way of explaining what is right and what is left. If I dont know that, and you have to send me a written note (just words, no pictures), its almost impossible for you to tell me what is right and what is left (unless you ask me to listen to my heartbeat)
That is why, right and left are the hardest directions for the kids to learn. My 6 years old often gets confused at the dinner table and asks me, 'dad which one is my right hand' - but more surprisingly, especially if I am sitting across her, I have to think for a sec or two to answer that question.
I have a 'feel-able' scar on my right palm that helps me.
Whenever I have to distinguish from left and right............giving directions or anything similar I always subconsciously touch my right palm to make sure right is right and left is left
Yeh... also let's say I am giving someone directions and I need to tell them to go right... in my head I am seeing the right turn and thinking 'right' but I will still say 'left'.
I also have other weird problems like sometimes I can read something as say, '36', I know it's '36' but I will say '63'.
