watching GEO and ARY network is like watching any indian channel. the female presenters are pathetic, they dress half naked, they try and act like there indian counterparts. ARY are the biggest hypocrits, on QTV they preach islam, if u switch over to ary musik or ary digital they hav half naked women presenters, i even saw english commercial where a women is in her knickers and is trying to put on her jeans, i think it was a nokia commercial. do they really hav to show this type of adverts. im looking forward to PTV global launching in uk, at least it will be a pure pakistani channel.

coolmunda i thgt u would have a better idea of the term half naked since u have a better idea of the nanga naach's on those bolly channels i.e. your recent post on pyar ke side effects.

if u guys think that wearing sleeveless shirts is half naked, then wot do you call those bikini clad chicks in those bollywood item numbers? those are halaal clothes in your eyes i believe?

^ You also know what he means. we want the channel to represent pakistan and it’s culture and the way those ladies dress does neither and like i explained in one of my previous replies just because u watch/appreciate other’s movies/programmes, it doesn’t mean that u r set out to promote their culture

The argument here is about Pakistani culture, e.g., Shalwar Kameez, Salaam, Allah Hafiz etc Why is the Pakistani Entertainment Industry just following what the indians are doing e.g. copying the way that models/host’s dress and behave, Why can’t it build upon and promote their own pakistani culture?

Because, now our own people prefer bharati crap media over Pakistani culture (you're also an exmaple). TV channels show stuff according to demand.. when our people will boycott bharati media, only then the situation can change.

I would definately like to see more pakistani culture in our media and how on earth do any of my posts imply that I prefer Bharti Media over our pakistani culture? I don’t watch any Bharti Telelvision and rahi baat Filmoun ki, yes I think we get to watch good quality Bollywood movies such as those by Priyradarshan and RamGopal Verma - whats the harm in that? Pakistani Television is doing really well, apart from those channels that are influenced by the indian culture.

I know man I dunno why the hell pakistani channels are copying indian culture even though they have crap actresses (no offense but at least some bollywood actresses are worth taking a look, e.g. aishwarya rai/rani mukherjee).. perhaps its because us pakistanis dont have the minds to make a good pakistani drama (the days of the old alif laila and 50-50 are gone now)..

anyhow back on the post i think ary has to be the most ridiculous channel. geo is also indianized but they are intelligent enough not to mix up the two cultures (anyone seen ghar gharonda on ary? that pisses me off like hell), and also geo has the best production values.. ptv is the most purely pakistani of all channels but its production values are also kind of a bit too pakistani

The dramas on all the channels are no longer worth watching.
Music videos - they're good for the most part.

other misc shows - not very many are worth watching. Either the idea is stupid, or the script is stupid, or the host is annoying.
