have not read bridge across forever, but the other 2 of which illusions, the adventures of a reluctant messiah is my favourite.

If you enjoyed Illusions, you will love bridge across forever. It's his autobiographical love story. But it's much more than a love story.
Have you seen the movie "The Kid" starring Bruce Willis. That was inspired by this book.
