Re: Rice cooker & Slow cooker recipes
Is there a specific cut/type of meat you use for the pot roast..?
Re: Rice cooker & Slow cooker recipes
Sahar02: Do you use regular roast meat? also how long does it take?
Sweet and savory lamb chops.
I slice up two green apples and lay them at the bottom. Cover with pre-marinated lamb chops (use what ever seasonings you like). Add any other seasonings in if you want. I usually throw in a little crushed kosher salt and a few black pepper cloves. Add half can of coke or pepsi. Drink the other half
Cover and set on low for 6-7 hours or high for 2-3 hours.

^ OOOOH interesting.
But what do the apples do?
More importantly, what does the soda do?
I guess I should have included that. ![]()
The soda balances out the tartness from the green apples and keeps the chops moist.
You can mush up the apples and what ever else is left over, cook it up and make it into a (dipping) sauce. ![]()
I also throw a can of coke in when I’m making pot roast, too. Really makes it tender and makes an amazing sauce or gravy (after recooking and thickening)! MmMmMmMmMmM! ![]()
Slow cookers save my life. I throw stuff in in the morning before work and set it to low. But the time I come home, dinner’s ready!
All I’d need to do is throw some quick side dishes together and I’m golden!
Re: Rice cooker & Slow cooker recipes
I have been day dreaming about slow cookers and pot roasts since morning.I need t do some homework and I intend on buying one, soon ...!
I was just thinking if you add some liquid to it and a whole chicken, will it cook well...??..be moist, and tender...??
Re: Rice cooker & Slow cooker recipes
^I've done it with whole chicken. I put it on a bed of onions, potatoes, and carrots. You can add a little water, but you don't need much. Just marinate well and you should be fine.
