Rhythms of Love

I love you
Not for what
I want you to be
But for what you are

I love you then
For what you were

I love you now
For what you have become
I miss what I am

Re: Rhythms of Love

Very interesting. To me, it signifies the intent of loving someone persistently enough to forget yourself. I would suggest a minor change in the last line. It should best be:
I miss what I *was.*
