Re: Reza Aslan's Book
Never read this book, nor have I heard of it. Perhaps you can share your views if you have read the book.

this is his website and reviews of this book. But a word of caution the more orthodox muslims might not like views and may even brand him a heretic.
But in my opinion the author does a great job in defending the various allegations against the Prophet Muhammad(PBUH).Best of all is the complete examination he does of the execution of the banu qurayza. Also the succesion and the civil war to the Prophet(PBUH) is discussed in great detail and both sides of the argument are presented with historical facts and references.
I do not agree with all his views but you have to give him credit for coming up with a first-rate historical account of the rise and evolution of islam.
My personal rating (for what it is worth) 9/10
