I am noticing that all of you in UK, USA, including my family members in USA are extremely concerned about Pakistan’s quake….
I would suggest, all of you relax, don’t get hyped up, I was abroad too, and I can understand your sentiments that when you are far from home every thing hits you with a greater magnitude.
People are taking good care here if you want to contact, many news channels are running their numbers all the time…(I have posted my contact number in another thread)
**Some Reviews: ** I would commend the efforts of “Rapid UK”, “USA Army”, Japan, Turkey, France, EU, and many other nationalities that have poured their efforts 24/7 to get people out of their misery.
The “foreigners” have literally won the hearts of the people of Pakistan. The People that we so easily call “goras” are the ones responsible for many people alive in Islamabad and azad Kashmir with their equipment. Thank You!
ARYDigital(A Pakistani channel) ran a good campaign , to collect mony and mobilize and structure the relief and rehabilitation efforts.
True stories Dr Shahid masood of ARY digital broke down on national television and was howling that a women in Azad Kashmir requested him to collect stones and hit the dogs that were trying to eat the hand of her son , whose hand was protruding out of the rubble.
Living in Peshawar I am also as oblivious as you lot , but from the media what I got was that places like Balakot , Kaghan, Naran, Leepa Vally, nelam vally, have been totally decimated , NEW MOUNTAIN Ranges have been formed and all small villages have been totally erased from the earth surface.
Roman - I would request you to properly govern yourself when posting in Earthquake related threads. I will not allow any 'ill-feelings' generated by your senseless comments.
funguy, I’ll make an exception to address you directly this time only.
Keep your holier-than-thou morality and ethics to yourself. You’re a ******* if my comments raised any “ill feelings” in you. And even they do, you’re no friggin’ authority on people how they should feel or not. You are the last person here who would have any clue anyway.
Don’t tell me in the future what to write and not.
Look, my sarcasm is JUSTIFIABLY targeted towards those who have and continue to echo sentiments that reflect such thinking. And I don't need to point you to where and when. You know that already. So please keep that in mind next time.
I know exactly what you mean, Roman. I am just sick of seeing threads with great initial posts derailing to 'muslim V non-muslim' battle. Here I was reading PKC's account and still trying to comprehend how a mother would be feeling asking a reporter to gather stones to keep a stray dog away from his child's dead body...and then the next post is a one-liner 'have a go' at religion.
Khuda kay liyay, let all the dead bodies come out of the rubble before we teach others a lesson.
Sorry yaar, I know you are a great and good hearted guy just like most of others on this board and I am not saying you are not mourning all this any less.
I don’t know , may be its wrong, I have got too much on my plate to think about, but In my opinion to have a donors conference was a bit too much...Being a BEGGER on the street or asking a countries representative for aid is the SAME for me . Next time remember when you are talking to any one who’s country donated in yesterdays meeting , talk with a little humility , as at the end of the day you were the BEGGER and he/she was the donor.
