REVIEW: Decent Dresses

Salaam Ladies just recieved my clothes from Ayasha from Decent Dresses and just wanted to share my experience, because I chose to order from her because of all of her great reviews. I would post pictures of my suit but I’m not sure how to on here. This is the email I just sent out to here, hopefully it helps.

We have received the clothes today alhumdulilah. The stitching is neatly done and just as you described. I do have a few complaints. Both of my suits are a little tight, but that may have been a mistake on my side when I gave you the measurements. My light cream suit has pen marks on the back. My biggest complaint is the way it was shipped. It came in a cloth bag, not a box or a package? I don’t understand why you chose to ship it this way, because it is coming from Pakistan to America. All of the clothes are extremely wrinkled and I have to get them pressed from dry cleaning before I can wear it. Your prices for stitching are some of the best I have seen home based sellers doing, but you are charging the same rate for shipping as others and they ship the clothes in a secure package, not a cloth bag. Anyways, thank you for sending all of the clothes as described.

re: REVIEW: Decent Dresses

update- upon examining my suits have countless pen marks and small grease type stains. SO SO disappointed :((

re: REVIEW: Decent Dresses

Ok I am not taking ayesah in defence but the grease stains are mainly from the darzi walas and they also leave pen marks, of course ayesha should talk to her darzi wala and ask them to be careful in future. I also recieve my cloths in a cloth bag, not only from her but also from other home based designer. as about them being wrinkled, they will be no matter if in a plastic bag, box or cloth bag, this is not avoidable, and its not a big deal to iron them at home.

re: REVIEW: Decent Dresses

This is true, I guess this was my first experience with the cloth bag incident. I can understand minimal pen marks obviously happens while stitching, but the entire back of my suit has them :/ lesson learned I guess

re: REVIEW: Decent Dresses

I was shipping a parcel of clothes internationally and the post office people kept insisting I use a cloth bag to reduce the weight and hence the cost of shipping. However I put my foot down and Insisted on getting a box and luckily the total weight did not shift to the next kg. At the end of the day cost of shipping is borne by the customer and there may be significant cost savings by using a cloth bag than a box.

re: REVIEW: Decent Dresses

what service was used for shipping the clothes ? I thought it was either box or a plastic bag (for parcels under 2kg). For Pakistan Post, a fabric covering is mandatory but I drop the parcel in a box which is covered in fabric cover later.

re: REVIEW: Decent Dresses

Sorry for your experience nn21! I had ordered from decent dresses a couple months ago but didnt want to post a bad review...I guess I wanted to give a benefit of the doubt since she is new and all. Everyone makes mistakes in the beginning...
Ayesha is lovely to correspond with, promptly answers emails, tries hard to please the customer.
But: same as you, I got pen marks, and poor stitching i.e. white hem stitching all over black embroidery and vice versa. I didnt like the shot silk material used either...but I guess that's just me. The sizing was perfect and all other things I had requested were taken care of.
Yes, I got it in a cloth bag! It really looked so bad, but I heard that Pakistan Post sent like that, it just looks like you are receiving a sack of potatoes through the mail! And it took weeks to get here. DHL/FedEx are much better.

Re: REVIEW: Decent Dresses

Yes, it was shipped through Pakistan Post, I did not know that it was a requirement until she told me in the email. The cloth bag and the wrinkling I can deal with. But the pen marks and grease stains ALL over the front and back of my suit and the sleeves, not even the normal ones that usually comes from a darzi, I had to leave a review. She really is very accommodating and nice and her prices are VERY reasonable, but I will not be placing an order with her in the future just because I don't want to have to worry about what the actual condition of my outfits will be when they arrive.
