The brand's dresses are... bad. They look super nice because of the styled hair and makeup and amazing photography (I'm actually related to the photographer who helped make the brand a household name, so yeah. >_>) But the truth is that the dresses are REALLY overpriced and not worth it at all. In my opinion, even Khadi ka Rs. 5000 kurta gives much better value for money than Allechant's stuff and overall service.
mmm I only liked her earlier work, it was a dress ordered from her earlier stuff. But as you guys have said it just wasn't worth it, wayy to pricey. I wont be getting them from her again, I like Apricots idea of making a replica of her dresses though ;)
By the way does any one know of fb vendors making her (Alle) replicas and how they turned out? Pics would be good :)
Hi I’m new here. I have to say I’m really disappointed in what I’m reading so far. I came looking for reviews on different designers for my wedding and there seems to be a blatant animosity towards the designer and others you refer to as “elite pieces.”
So far so much negativity and yet a few of you have made replicas. No wonder Pakistani fashion lags behind. I’ve yet to see anything positive. Very sad. This is exactly why foreign labels progress and ours don’t. We are too busy beating up our own instead of being supportive.
I think her pieces are lovely and I appreciate the time she puts in. I dealt with her recently on a custom dress for my engagement. She was a professional and asked me what I wanted and how I envisioned the piece to be. The result was beautiful. I will buy from her again for my baraat and for my sister.
Another observation. The majority of the comments are by people who haven't actually purchased anything from her (except one person who had an issue). How can you pass judgement on something you haven't even seen?
I genuinely want to buy a customized lace dress ensemble from Allechant given their expertise with lace and net. However, I am not located in Pakistan and I wish to use my own rather expensive French lace that my mother has saved for me for eons. I can get the lace to Islamabad but not to Lahore via relatives as I am very concerned about shipping such expensive and fine lace by courier. Thus far, I have not received an adequate response from Allechant about all of my concerns about the specifications I want in terms of design and embroidery, the use of my own lace and getting it to Lahore. Now, I am re-thinking Allechant all together...
But I have yet to find another clothier in Pakistan who will be able to execute the same level of craftsmanship when it comes to lace :(
If anyone has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate them!
Thank you raania, do you have their contact information?
Overall, I have to say that Pakistani clothiers are far less accessible (via phone, email, Skype) than Indian ones who cater to CAN/USA/UK customers as well as local ones.
I wish I could Skype with the designer to explain everything I would like... it would certainly make it more clear! But load shedding in Pakistan is certainly not helping :(
