the white americans that are in bangalore talk about the power outages that still happen everyday, whatever happened to that deal with india to build more power plants....? it was a couple yrs ago so i don't remember?

but if we talk about quality of work, who does not know the fact that Indians are known to screw up most of the "technical" things they do if they are asked to take some responsibility and do it independently. Its true at least in the UAE, specially in electronics and software industry, I've seen plenty of examples myself
but yeah, india is a good option in terms of cost, hiring a dozen indians and paying them peanuts, supervised by a gora paid well, is good enough than hiring a team of half dozen professionals who demand good salaries.
the organization i work for does the same, outsources something not-so-critical to india for almost same salary as ONE of us draw here (sometimes even less than that), and makes them dedicate 3-4 people who do the job under supervision of someone from dubai, they still take longer. but yeah there may be cases opposite to this of course, but fewer enough, at least not to my knowledge.
