Last weekend I went to a valima and the bride (fresh from pakistan) wore a bridal lengha that looked so pretty it was like something from benzerworld.com. Anyhow her whole stomach was showing...like a lot of it. Then my cousin said that the skirt is suppose to be worn even lower down and she's suppose to be showing more stomach and that this is the new trend in pakistan; meaning indian looking bridal lenghas. Uhh is that true? Because even at my hindu friends wedding they kinda drape their dupatta in a way and don't show that much...so ya are pakis pushing the limit and showing their stomachs fully now?
Oooh...I know exactly what you mean.
I also went to a valima in August, and the bride wore a tight lengha and short top which was like a bodice with flimsy strap like things on her shoulders....no dupatta just a thin stole wrapped around her wrists..Although she looked incredibly beautiful, it's not something I would be prepared to let my daughter wear. After mini CO picked her jaw off the floor, she was all eyes.I soon put her right!!.Plus...both families are conservative people and very 'namaazy' etc.The mind boggles.
