Well the thing is my only sister is getting married n i would have loved to wear my bridal lehnga to her shaadi but mine are short shirts so now Ijust hate it to wear them as they are, as i love long shirts…
but i also want to re wear them as I have spent lots of money n I loved them too, so planning to make pishwaazes out of them…
I need suggestions…my braat one is red with copper kaam with swarvoski type crystals n large dark green stones…shirt is little bit simple n lehnga has A shaped heavy work in middle going down…I was thinking of getting pishwaaz made by joining both pieces or getting separate copper or dark green colored jamawar top piece with matching pants or sharara…can lehnga be made in to something like this ? http://www.paklinks.com/gsmedia/files/99553/WB7360010n.jpg
with ferozi shirt n lehnga is fawn from top n gets ferozi at bottom n has kundan work on it…
so how to make it into simple pishwaaz? which one will look good as umer sayeed’s dress?
I can wear one on her wedding n other one on my cousin’s wedding…
please help me
you can definitely do that! my sister and i have had a couple of our older outdated lehngas made into peshwas's the same way! if you can get the "band" under the bust where you attach the pieces to look right, no one will ever guess that it was once a lehnga. have your tailor take a look at it and hopefully it'll work out fine. good luck!
If you see the pictures posted above...you will see the length of the dress has to be way past your knees in order for it to be paired with a sharara...to create that flowy and dress type look.
Anything shorter would look awkward and might have to be worn with a chooridar. I think if you can find material that will match and flow well with your old lehnga...this can be done beautifully. You will need to get additional material to save the length of your old lehnga for the bottom of your peshwas/shirt. Does that make sense?
hmmm what if i just want it to be like normal pishwaaz without trail but with long length, will it go with sharara? i would just add a piece of cloth at bottom like in umer sayeed's dress. and i will keep the gher as is it of lehnga.-
I have only seen one peshwaz type look paired with a sharara...I think it was a fahad husayn bridal. Im not sure how it would look on a sharara...it has the potential to look gorgeous but really needs to be done right...not too many colors or types of fabric IMO.
I'm not too sure if ur gonna like ths idea. but how abt wear ur wedding/valima lehnga as it is one day.. And get new outifts made for the rest of the days.
could someone explain how the lehenga can be transformed into a pishwaz? i cant get the picture in my head.. or are u adding more cloth?
abotu the idea of sharara with pishwaaz... doesnt this look a bit same as the wide pants/culottes?? i think those look great...
so y nto the sharara? or is it coz of the lenght?

i just hate the short shirts with them so want to make them into something wearable.

i think it can be made as it is, only if you want to change the top part you can get new cloth for it. because of length shrara might be a problem, but i think length can be achieved with the normal lehnga. dont know much, will let you know once i go to Pakistan n see some tailor.
