Have any of you recycled your old clothes? Please share ideas and stories of what materials you used for which outfits. I’m planning to use velvet shirts that I have from yearssss ago along with some fresh material to make some outfits.

Oh I LOVE recycling old clothes. I've even recycled my moms clothes from the 80's and used them to make spectacular pieces. Working on some dresses even now. I don't necessarily make formal/expensive outfits from old clothes.. just casual stuff. Because I literally hate throwing away my clothes JUST because they're out of fashion.
Up till now I have made dresses by using velvet, silk brocade, chiffon, georgette and pieces of kaam (cotton and silk) on different shirts.

oh well these days shirts with diffrnt fornt n back are in fashion and silk is also in fashion so you can add velvet back to new silk front of the kurta
or u can use velevt for cut work :)

I've made kurtis out of shawls I no longer wear and get a lot of compliments on them because of the print and material.
I've made suits of saris. I've revamped old lehngas and turned them into dresses to be worn over churidars.
Its a lot of fun.

definitely done this with some of ammi’s outfits…
plus made several suits from saris that I received as gifts and wouldn’t be caught dead in…

I have soooooo many clothes and also my mum's clothes that I could use to make really nice outfits but unfortunately with not being in Pakistan I guess I won't be able to use all of them within 2 years
