Hey guys
Is retin-a and retinol the same? If not whats the difference? I would like to introduce it into my skin care routine but wasn’t sure if these 2 were the same?

They're not the same. You should get Retin A.
Retinol is a natural form of vitamin A and is used in over-the-counter skincare products.
Retin-A is derived from retinoic acid and considered pharmaceutical. Retin A is also the brand name for Tretinoin & is much stronger than retinol.

Yes, Retinol isn't as strong yet is usually more expensive..

^ Marketing B.S. in my opinion. Companies with fancy packaging and fancy ads…convincing women that their products can deliver miracles.

Retin-a is considered to be the authentic vitamin a derivative whereas retinol is trying to mimick it and more widely available. Hence, Retin-a is pretty heavy duty, I recently started using retin-a 0.025% though only peeling from some areas and would like to move across to 0.05% but it seems the product has been disconitinued in UK so looking for alternatives.
