some how i ended up saving my resume and cover letter rtf format instead of doc…does it make a difference i am sending it in a attachment? is this an acceptable format for emplyers? or should i change back to doc?

Shouldn't be a problem, as long as they can open it easily. Most computers have RTF automatically linked with either Word or the browser, so should be ok.
Thanks Faisal...thats what i was wondering if they can open the attachment and whether it works same as doc format. I Have noticed that rtf format is smaller in size than doc.
actually, a lot of HR people prefer RTF over DOC only because its non-proprietary and they can usually open up the file in different applications ranging from the basic Wordpad to MS Word to Corel Word Perfect.
So I'd say you're fine... just make sure you didn't lose any of the formatting when the document got converted to RTF. Since DOC files are output from a higher level application, the formatting is not backward compatible.
