Hi! So I’m looking for a very small hall or a restaurant to hold an engagement party. There would be about 50 guests and I’m on a very small budget. I’ve gone over some of the older posts and I don’t have a condo party room to rent. Community halls are costing about $350-400 just for the rooms! I would still have to rent plates and cater the food. Does anyone have any recommendations for halal restaurants that will let me use their place if I ask them to cater the food? I know there is a Chinese restaurant in Scarborough that allows it but there food isn’t anything special…please help!!!

thanks for your help ladies!!i'm SO stressed cuz ppl have been suggesting we do it in a hall (which costs $2000 just for the room). I could double the diamond on my engagement ring with that money lol!!

If you can cater your own food, try your local churches. They give out their community halls at pretty cheap rates.
also many schools do that too.

there's not much option by way of restos... have you tried Chauhan in Markham? they have a hall they rent out behind the resto.

I think Sahara in Mississauga has a hall next to the restaurant? Give them a call and find out!
If you are looking for smaller banquet hall with good food try Thorncliffe Banquet Hall, you can google them...I didn't know about it until I attended a mehndi there.

Ohh ohh I am also looking for one:(... have you checked out bombay palace? They cater halaal as well... other than that I think Sahara was rennovated recently but I haven't seen it. As for Haweli I have been there to many times for too many events and am sick of it:(...
hmmm, there's a halal steakhouse in Ajax by the name of Affy's grill...it's pretty nice with a really good menu!
Other than that, Lahore tikka house is still undergoing it's so called "rennovations" since like forever! Ughh

THANK YOU so much for the suggestions! I'm going to check out those places :) I love affy's food but their service is a bit slow so I was afraid they wouldn't be dependable enough. I'm surprised with all of the halal restaurants in the GTA, there are so few places to hold a party!

Yeah, Sahara does have a small banquet hall & their food is good as well. I think their buffet menu is around $18 or $20pp
You could also try Affys Premium Grill in Pickering - food is not typical desi
Restoran Malaysia up in Richmond hill is very nice - not sure if they hold private events though.
