Responsibility for Actions...Good vs. Evil

Re: Responsibility for Actions...Good vs. Evil

Verizon---Well Ive already found my Ken, and stop ruining Irems thread. Im not angry but she will be if you keep at it like this! Plus if I recall, I wasnt the one 'pissed' off. I was very logical and cool minded. You always start the name calling. grow out of it man. :p

Re: Responsibility for Actions…Good vs. Evil

Well, what you mean there are more bad people than good people?
This is your choice to be or not to be.
You think getting bad reputation is easy than good?
You don’t have to be extraordinary to be good person.

When you loose your common sense,
Like five senses of your body and you can’t judge what is right,
Then you are disabled and you need help!
If you don’t know when you need help!
Then you are insane!

Re: Responsibility for Actions...Good vs. Evil

Madhanee

you are saying that but I don't believe that you actually believe that?
Khair...it IS all about right and wrong...and we have to do the RIGHT thing...otherwise what else governs our actions?
you can't enjoy being a bum forever...u can be a bum for one day or two days but surely the third day you'll realise u're being a bum and then that enjoyment is hollow
its not that going to med school made him a good person. its just the fact that for most students who have at some point aimed so high academically (getting into med school) they have that ambition in themselves to atleast complete what they started (in his case finish med school)...so the fact that he dropped out surely must pain him

As for what's wrong with me: EVERYTHING :(

M_Q khair hay yar...sab set hae fikar nishta :D

Re: Responsibility for Actions…Good vs. Evil

um one example that comes to mind for me is when you have muslims dating/marrying non-muslims. Many of the female converts converted because their boyfriend/husband may have directly or indirectly introduced them to Islam. So, a new Muslim= good. Dating someone = bad. In this case, somethign “good” did come out of the “bad”…that’s the only thing I could think of that was relevant..

Re: Responsibility for Actions...Good vs. Evil

Irem, whats good and bad in your eyes doesnt necessarily mean its good and bad in the eyes of others.

Stop being judgmental of people just because they dont live their life according to your standards.

Re: Responsibility for Actions...Good vs. Evil

yea Sara thats a good example :)
but maybe she was dating coz of a majboori coz otherwise there was no way for her to get married? nomsaying? so how can u say what she was doing it bad?

Re: Responsibility for Actions…Good vs. Evil

:frowning:

LB but aren’t we all judgemental…

You have two daughters right? Do you tell them to stay away from certain girls and be with certain girls?
Or don’t you judge the people whom you work with for example, I mean don’t you have an opinion abt the individuals u interact with?

You should talk to everyone politely, but if you see something negative in a person, like we have a neighbor who sometimes pulls his old feeble mother by her arm…i can say that what he does is wrong right?

Re: Responsibility for Actions...Good vs. Evil

put it this way, you cant judge a book by its cover.

Re: Responsibility for Actions...Good vs. Evil

hmmm yea that's true

Re: Responsibility for Actions...Good vs. Evil

u can judge the category tho?......thats quite enuff for some.

Re: Responsibility for Actions...Good vs. Evil

i guess it brings us to square one:

every action within itself IS good or bad

Sara, dating = bad
true

and like i saw saying maybe she has a majboori..but still, that still doesn't justify it...it may be the reason but not a correct justification....innit? coz dating still is wrong

Re: Responsibility for Actions...Good vs. Evil

^ lost cause.

Re: Responsibility for Actions...Good vs. Evil

hmm...
how?
LB would u say dating is right? coz islam doesnt allow dating...

Re: Responsibility for Actions...Good vs. Evil

sheesh...some ppl progress from the black n white to the grays.....n some begin with the grays n go backwards.....:)

Re: Responsibility for Actions...Good vs. Evil

ghulail then present ur own logic here yaar :D
its all for discussion sake innit :D
arz karo :p

Re: Responsibility for Actions...Good vs. Evil

Irem I dont have islamic discussions. So i'll back off.
You have to realize that not every human in this world is a Muslim.
There are other religions out there and one cant just sit here and call them wrong just cause one's own religion forbids from dating.

Re: Responsibility for Actions…Good vs. Evil

it wasn’t a specific case, just something i hear/see about all the time. i meant dating was bad for the Muslim, not the non-muslim…

Re: Responsibility for Actions...Good vs. Evil

Neibhur: Children of light and Children of darkness.

Re: Responsibility for Actions...Good vs. Evil

I don't think irem was saying dating is wrong for EVERYONE in this world..but there's really no way to go around this issue..for Muslims, dating is wrong. it's not allowed, ther'es no ifs ands or buts about it. if u still decide to date then go ahead but dont' say that it's okay coz that's even worse. Every culture/religion has their own definitions of right and wrong. When religions and other cultures clash, a constant battle ensues over what the true definition of good or evil is.

Re: Responsibility for Actions…Good vs. Evil

LB thats true..i was talking abt Muslims tho…coz i am Muslim (alhamdulillah)
