Pinks, right. escapes ...as to what is unclean. Allah swt made a woman's body as is. no? since the body is undergoing discomfort, of course the body is given rest by not physically praying. otherwise, noone can deny women their prayers and recitation of Allah swt's letters.
ji Baji, their arguement was that we are given clear order to abstain from praying and fasting during certain days of the month, but none with regards to simply reciting the Quran. This was with regards to a women's monthly cycle and post child birth. As for husband/wife relations, then they are not allowed to even recite what they remember untill they cleanse themselves.
