Pakistani President Musharaff has repeatedly asked the International leaders to resolve the Palestine and Kashmir problems in order to unravel international terrorism forever. How many of you actually believe in President Musharaff 's one-dimensional vision of solving a multi-dimensional problem namely international terrorism. Don’t you guys think that Musharaff is too naive in his approach? Plus what does Kashmir problem have to do with eliminating international terrorism?? Terrorist organizations are financed, organized and run by Arabs (majority) and none of them have ever expressed any serious interest in resolving Kashmir’s issue. When did OBL and Dr Amen Zharway mention Kashmir problem in their speeches? Never. Not even once. Another blow to Ummah concept.
The Palestine problem may have some role to play in creating terrorists but the terrorism dilemma seems to be deeper than that. I guess, the theory of clash of civilizations appears to be true. Slowly but gradually, a deep hatred is stemming between two civilizations. In addition, AQ leaders have always insisted USA to withdraw its forces from Muslim countries especially Saudi Arabia. They have hardly mentioned Palestine problem let alone Kashmir problem.
Why did Mush forgot to mention Iraq , which is presently the biggest cause of international terrorism . Probably because then his Master Bush will get pi$$ed :nahnah:
He explicitly said that invading Iraq was a mistake.
At any point, the President General has a very good point. “Terrorism” arises as an angry reaction to an asymmetric political standoff where the weaker side does not have the conventional might to fight on equal terms.
Resolving the political situation removes the anger and thus the impetus for “terrorism” - because the overwhelming majority of “terrorist” groups cite political reasons, or have their roots in political conflicts.
Al-Qaeda has in roots in Ayman Al-Zwahiri’s egyptian militant faction, a reaction against the brutal political dictatorship in Egypt. Palestinian militant groups exist because of the tension between the Jewish entity in Palestine and Palestinians; Phillipine militant groups popped up as a reaction to Phillipine occupation of Mindanao, most Pakistani Sunni militant groups lay use the issue of Kashmir or Afghanistan to garner support from a population angry about the two places.
Ending the political conflicts that create support and recruits for “terrorists” is an effective way of ending it. Hardly any terrorist groups use simple blind hatred to justify their existence (only the sectarian ones come to mind) - the vast majority are politically motivated.

On a number of times they (OBL and his sidekick the Doc Aiyman Al-Zwahiri) have mentioned Kashmir in their speeches / meeting with press. If you would like I can dig up a few speeches (but you will have to wait 12 hrs, till I go home).
PD they have also mentioned Chechnya, Uighur Muslims (Muslim Chinese from Xingiang province), and Palestine.
Is it a clash of civilization. I think it is heading in that direction (in other words it ain't getting any better).
mAd_ScIeNtIsT: He did mention Iraq and made some pretty bold statements that were against his master(Bush).
The Only person that can fix all issues is Builder Bob (bush). "can we fix it, yes we can". He has Spuck (Dick), Muck (wolfie)and Dizzy (condi). If they can't resolve then he sends rollie(rummy) to "level 'em off".
"Terrorism" arises as an angry reaction to an asymmetric political standoff where the weaker side does not have the conventional might to fight on equal terms"
This is not necessarily true. Terrorism is caused when a group decides to exceded the norms of civil combat. Groups sometimes make ex-post facto rationalizations for their barbarism, but terrorism is not a natural outcome of a groups condition. Terrorism is a complete rejection of peaceful compromise, and it also polarizes sides so that peaceful means are unavailable until terrorism is contained.
I am so sick of apologists giving me "Root Causes" for terrorism I could puke. Terrorists are not children. They are adults that make rational choices. If Islam is a "Religion of Peace", then the good people of Islam will eventually see terrorism for what it is, a backward step in world civilization, and terroists will lose the base of support they need to operate.
Unfortunately that may be 10 years or more. Buckle your seat belts, it's gonna be a long one....
^ Exactly: The zionist entity having "exceded the norms of civil combat" has caused the rise of terrorists in the Palestine - Israeli conflict. The US regime has followed the route of the zionist entity and thus made the world a less safe place.
"I am so sick of apologists giving me "Root Causes" for terrorism I could puke."
Pointing out the root causes does not mean one is an apologist - far from it - in fact only by understanding the root causes, that (almost) make you puke, can we hope to overcome the current upheaval in the world. Otherwise continue hiding your head in the sand and bomb the civilians to smithereens from behind the safety of tanks and F-16s at 20,000 feet - also known as state terrorism.
