In case you are resigning because you have issues with the management, would you let them know or just cite personal issues as a reason to leave the job?
What are some of the reasons you left your last job?

Re: Resignation Reason(s)
Depends on my relationship with my manager. If I had a good one, then I would share with them the reasons of my move. But if its not so good then I would just keep it to generic excuses for resigning.
My reasons of resignation have been mostly either moving countries or being offered a more challenging role.
Re: Resignation Reason(s)
If the issue was broader company, and something that the boss was concerned with as well, I would be candid.
if the issue is boss himself, just say you have an opportunity that you have to pursue blah blah blah.
Now here is a little pointer, CB may be able to speak more to it. The exit interview
In a number of cases, your exit interview is part of your file. If you want to come back to the company at some point in time, in some places your total employee file is looked at.
Hr also puts the 'eligible for rehire' note in the file, usually only of ppl are let go for cause is it ever listed as not eligible for rehire, but if you have just blasted the leadership or company etc, you may be marked as such, if not 'officially' it is in between the lines.
Re: Resignation Reason(s)
agreed with X2. Most often then not, the direct manager is the one whose feedback is important and noted in your employee file for potential rehire .
So , if you are unhappy with that person, refrain from blasting him directly or indirectly even in the exit interview.
Re: Resignation Reason(s)
CB, so whats happens when an employee requests his employee file copy after leaving the company?
Re: Resignation Reason(s)
So far when I quit it was an offer which my previous employer could not match I was open and honest and told them that I got an offer which I cannot refuse.
I never left on a sour note.
