Requesting for Permanent Job Status

Well, I am a contractor at a company as an IT consultant. I have been there for about 8 months. I like my team there and want to stay in that company as a permanent employee with full benefits. I think I have been able to establish a good reputation for myself, Al-hamdulillah. The question is, how should I approach my manager regarding this. The manager is a little not too friendly, but quite experienced. Should I talk to him directly, or send him an email, etc. So please advise, as to how to proceed. Thanks.
BTW, I am a US citizen, so visa/immigration is not a problem here.

Re: Requesting for Permanent Job Status

I think, am positive actually, that the best approach is to go to him and talk to him personally. You mentioned that mashallah you have been able to make a name for yourself...so being a manager I am sure he realizes that and knows all about your work. Plus, going there in person shows that you are confident and sure about yourself and it also adds a personal touch to the whole situation. If there is one thing I have learnt in the US is that there is no harm in trying. And goras are ususally very understanding when it comes to these situations.

Good Luck

Re: Requesting for Permanent Job Status

Thanks a bunch for your suggestion. I will try to speak with him in person, but his little arrogant attitude is what bothers me. Well as you said no harming in trying it, at least that would show my interest in working for the company.
