Rather request TO Shan …Could you come up with Shan Paalak Gosht Masala?
How about making a dish without these ready made masalas ? :p
btw I like Ahmed better. :p
Shaan is good but our shop wala is convincing us to start lazeeza cos shaan is unhealthy. We only use it for roasting/barbequing or then sometimes kebab so how much harm can it do afterall!
But u don't need masala for palak gosht FG. Its so damn tasty even with regular masalas.
Shan is unhealthy and Lazeeza is healthy?. What makes Shan unhealthy?. It's just spices. I bet your shopkeeper's profit margins on lazeeza must be higher than those on Shan.
Shan ki baat he kuch aur hay. I have tried Ahmed's -NO NO, Lazeeza - NO NO, Mehran - SO SO...But Shan - YES YES.
Waisay you are right. For palak, I use regular masalas and add Methi to it. But it doesn't give that restaurant / professional taste.
FG try adding a bit of powdered garam masala, that always gives it a better touch.
I do that already. ![]()
I add a chutkee of garam masala to almost everything.
Phir tumharay haath mein zaaika nahi ho ga
If you do everything right palak gosht is one of the yumiest and easiest of dishes you can make.
Haan zaiqa nahee, mere haath mai sandal hay. Kaho tau maarooN tumhaaray sir pe?. ![]()
Sandal hei haath mein? Is that all any girl ever leaves you with?
Don't you guys feel that the masala tastes "kacha" or is it just me? I always feel like I'm tasting the masala on its own, and not the dish as a whole. Maybe I'm putting in too much masala or not cooking it long enough? I use Shan too.
Mine tastes fine really as long as u use what the box says and bhoonofy it well. Our shopwala offered us a few free packets of lazeeza masaala just to try it tou so we may switch over. We tried their korma masala and it turned out very good. I like korma made from usual masaalas too though.
hehe I never follow the directions on the box so maybe I should do that. but I did when I was making chicken jalfrezi and the same thing happened, the kacha taste and the masala taste very distinct from the chicken.
Oh I messed up, I meant to say that I use "National" now, you only get this brand from pakistan, atleast I haven'T seen it here, their chicken tikka, chicken birayani /korma is the best. Btw we have to get our National from Pakistan, so I am allways using it very wisely. :)
I tried Shan but its not so good as National.
Shan masalas rock ![]()

Sarah the masala usually gives a kacha taste if you add it to water. If you are adding it to water make sure you bhoonofy the masala very well at the end. Or start off with putting the masala in very little liquid and more oil and cook it upfront before adding meat/water.
