SsangYong showed us the sequels before the original, but the full story will be revealed at the 2012 Paris Motor Show when we see the e-XIV.
The eXIV-1 concept showed up at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year. The e-XIV-2 sequel - a crossover powered by a 1.6-liter diesel engine - debuted earlier this year at the Geneva Motor Show, with aspirations of making market production sometime in the next 2013. This new e-XIV concept, slated for the upcoming Paris show, is a plug-in hybrid; an electric vehicle with a gas-powered range-extending engine.
*Autocar *says that if this little guy does make it to showrooms, it will slot in below the Korando among SsangYong offerings. It would probably also require a name change, with its current acronym for “eXciting user Interface Vehicle” not exactly all that, well, exciting. But we do hope the energy-generating solar cells on the roof stick around.SsangYong bringing e-XIV Concept to Paris originally appeared on Autoblog on Wed, 12 Sep 2012 09:40:00 EST.
