I am creating a replica of this dress as a sample (in my size off course - and without the trail). Obviously I’d not like the dress to be this see-through, so will use lining. I want to keep the essence of the design though. Which means, I’ll need to use two different type of fabrics, one lighter/see through and other heavy. I was able to find a fabric that is see through and a bit shimmery.
Can anyone suggest the fabric for the lining and the heavy panels?
Finally decided on the fabrics for most of it
Bodice of shamoz silk 80 gram
Panels of shamoz 20 gram (i think) and 80 grams alternatively
Sleeves chiffon
Lining some thick silver fabric
Now next question is, if this has to be in some color other than white, what should that be? My favorite color is sky-blue, would it look good in that?
